About the author...

Sylvain Pedneault is a professional fire & rescue photographer in St.Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada. He is the official photographer, honorary firefighter and member for life of the St.Hyacinthe City Fire Department. He is also the official photographer of a dozen other fire departments in neighboring towns.

M. Pedneault holds a number of professional firefighting certifications: Firefighter II (NFPA 1001, IFSAC), Hazardous Materials Operations Level, Vehicle Extrication, Engine Operator, and others.

Advocating safety and ethics in fire & rescue photography, he is the author of the Canadian Fire Photographs Code of Conduct. He also acts as the official Canadian representative to the International Fire Photographers Association (IOFP).
